Det norske has as partner in PL 035 and PL 272, made a discovery in the Krafla prospect. The discovery is located southwest of the Oseberg South field in the North Sea.

Statoil is operator for the licenses.   Estimates published by NPD indicate that the discovery is between 13 and 57 million barrels of oil equivalents.   Cores have been collected and a logging programme is in progress.   The partnership has decided to drill a sidetrack targeting the Krafla West structure. More information about Krafla and Krafla West will be provided when the drilling operations have been completed and the data evaluated.   Det norske holds 25 percent in these licenses, Statoil 50 percent and Svenska Petroleum 25 percent.
