Under the company's breakfast meeting at ONS in Stavanger CEO Erik Haugane (picture) confronted the media's coverage of the oil industry. Haugane believe the oil industry's silence has allowed the environmentalists and activists to dominate the public debate in Norway - and that this is tabloid and not based on facts.

- We have every reason to be proud of the Norwegian oil and gas industry. Our industry is the most important for creating prosperity and development both in Norway and in the world.

Builds school with Kaizers in Rwanda Print E-mail

In collaboration with UNICEF and the Schools for Africa campaign, Kaizers Orchestra set a goal to raise one million NOK to build a school in Rwanda.
Det norske has had the pleasure to support the project with 700,000 NOK, and with this contributing to goal achievement.

In the second quarter, Det norske operated three rigs simultaneously without experiencing any serious incidents or injuries.

Both the Draupne and Storklakken discoveries were appraised with positive results, and the apparisal drilling in Grevling proved potentially commercial resources.

Det norske has sold 20 percent in PL 440S (Clapton) to Faroe Petroleum. As compensation, Faroe will cover Det norske's exploration expences related to the next exploration well in the license. Det norske has offered to resign as operator in the license.

Acting CFO Print E-mail

The process of appointing a new Chief Financial Officer in Det norske oljeselskap ASA has taken longer than expected. Vice President of Investor Relations Knut Evensen will therefore take on the position of acting CFO from 15th of august 2010 and until a new CFO is appointed.

Well confirms Grevling discovery Print E-mail

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has today announced that Talisman has completed drilling of the appraisal well on the Grevling prospect in production license 038D in the North Sea.

Det norske has a 30 percent interest in the license. In the appraisal well the oil-water contact was identified as being 83 meters deeper than in the discovery well.

As part of an agreement involving equipment, training and R&D, Det norske lifts education and research in geology at the University of Tromsø (UiT).

Det norske will have targeted efforts in securing new licenses in the North after the Norwegian Petroleum and Energy Ministry announced 94 new exploration blocks in 21st runde. round. Managing Director Erik Haugane believes the announcement is an important boost for Northern Norway.

Anniken Maurseth is employed as Legal Director of Det norske oljeselskap ASA. She has already entered her position. At the same time, Det norske  signed a framework agreement with the law firm Wiersholm for the delivery of legal services.

Det norske oljeselskap ASA, operator of production licence 408, has completed the drilling of wildcat well 15/9-24. The well, which was dry, was drilled southwest of the Sleipner Øst field in the central  part of the North Sea.

Repsol farms into Ulvetanna in PL 356 Print E-mail

Det norske oljeselskap ASA has signed an agreement with Repsol Exploration Norge AS, whereby Det norske will reduce its ownership interest in PL 356 from 100 percent to 60 percent.

Discovery in the Frøy area Print E-mail

Det norske has discovered oil in Storklakken close to the Frøy field. The proven volumes are between 7 and 12 million barrels of oil equivalents. Det norske owns 100% of the licence.

Det norske is now laying the foundations for a substantial increase in production. Our aim is for the Frøy field and the combined development of the Draupne/Hanz/West Cable fields to be in production by 2014. The company will maintain a high level of exploration activity concurrently with development planning.

Det norske oljeselskap ASA, operator of production license 337, has completed the drilling of exploration well 15/12-22 with the semi-submersible rig Bredford Dolphin. The other participating companies are Dana Petroleum, Wintershall  and Bridge Energy.

Talisman Energy Norge AS, operator of license PL332, has completed exploration well 2/2-6 named Optimus. The well is located about 24 kilometres east of the Gyda field in the Southern North Sea.
